Professor Andy Veitch is President of the British Society of Gastroenterology. He is a
Gastroenterologist with an interest in advanced endoscopy and endoscopy training,
and is an Honorary Professor of Gastroenterology at the University of Wolverhampton.
He is a past chair of the Bowel Screening Advisory Committee for England, and former
chair of the World Gastroenterology Organisation Endoscopy Committee. He has a
strong interest in quality improvement in endoscopy and, in addition to national QI roles
in endoscopy and bowel cancer screening in England, was lead for QI of endoscopy
services for the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has published
national and international guidelines and standards, and research articles on
endoscopy practice. Most recently he has been leading nationally and internationally
on environmental sustainability in gastroenterology.
